Fuel prices are affected daily by various factors such as the cost of crude oil, international prices of refined products, refining costs, as well as competition in the petrol station market. Thus, prices can vary within days and depending on the area where each petrol station is located. It is certainly the decision of each petrol station owner at what price he wishes to sell his product every day.

All Shell petrol stations are regularly inspected by the competent department of the Ministry of Development. In addition, at Shell petrol stations we have an integrated quality control system at all stages of the fuel journey, from the refinery to the ISO 9001:2008 certified petrol station. Surprise checks are carried out at petrol stations, during which we indicatively mention: correct content of fuel additives, specific gravity of the fuel, octane number of gasoline using portable octanometers, determination of the molecular tracer in V-Power fuels, etc. Nationwide, we carry out more than 2,000 tests in our network every year.

If you refer to the manufacturer's specifications you will read the reference to the tank capacity which is usually an estimate, since there are models where there is room to supply with a larger quantity due to the pipes etc.

Regarding how to ensure the quality and quantity of our fuels, we have developed an integrated system of control of the quality and quantity of our fuels from the refinery to the petrol station and finally to the tank of the customer's car.

In this context, our company uses specialized mobile crews that carry out unannounced checks at petrol stations during which the quality and quantity of fuel available to consumers are examined. Some of the checks concern the correct content of fuel additives, the specific gravity, the octane number of gasoline, the possible mixing of dissimilar fuels, the presence of foreign substances, etc., while the proper operation of fuel pumps is checked with specially certified containers (litermeters).

Our company attaches great importance to quality control, which is why we have invested in an integrated system of quantitative and quality control of our fuels from the refinery to the petrol station. Specially equipped crews – small trucks with specialized technicians – carry out visits to Shell petrol stations all over Greece, carrying out over 2,000 on-site inspections per year. In this way, we ensure that the quality of fuel offered by Shell petrol stations is within company standards.

The Shell V-Power Diesel is designed to prevent any additive from being added on your part. Therefore, the use of any add-on is not recommended.

All Shell fuels follow government standards which require resistance to up to -5 degrees Celsius. Shell V-Power Diesel is designed to withstand temperatures down to -15 degrees Celsius. We would suggest you use antifreeze and turn on the car engine because in the evening and morning hours the temperature can drop a lot compared to the rest of the day.
