The awards

Three winners will be selected, receiving prizes with a total value of €12,000:

  • 1st place: €6,000
  • 2nd place: €4,000
  • 3rd place: €2,000

Open Call – Creative Contest: Terms and Conditions

The société anonyme under the name “CORAL ANONYMOUS COMPANY OF PETROLEUM AND CHEMICAL PRODUCTS” and the distinctive title “CORAL S.A.”, headquartered in Marousi, Attica, at 12A Irodou Attikou Street, and legally represented (hereinafter the “Organizer”), wishes to conduct a contest for the creation of an artwork, in the context of the celebration of 100 years of continuous presence of the Shell brand in Greece, 1926–2026.

1. Subject

CORAL S.A. organizes an open contest (hereinafter the “Contest”), on the completion of 100 years of continuous presence of the Shell brand in Greece, under the terms listed below and posted on the website www.shell.gr (hereinafter the “Website”). The objective is the creation of a purely original and authentic artwork, product of exclusive human inspiration and execution, inspired by the Shell logo and brand identity elements, its history, heritage, and the brand’s role in shaping Greece’s energy landscape, as well as its commitment to progress, innovation, and sustainability. The use of any Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools is strictly prohibited at all stages of composition and production.

The purpose of these Terms is to define the conditions of participation in the Contest for each interested party, as well as the method for selecting the winners within the framework of the Contest.

The Contest is governed by the following participation terms, as well as the special terms (Terms) which, as amended from time to time, will be posted on the Organizer’s page on Linktree, https://linktr.ee/shellstations.gr,

and on the website www.shell.gr.

2. Right to Participate in the Contest

2.1. All persons who have reached the age of 18 and are permanent and lawful residents of Greece (each Participant), provided they submit their proposal within the deadline specified in clause 3 herein, have the right to participate in the Contest.

2.2. Employees and representatives of the Organizer and the MOTOR OIL Group, as well as their first‑ and second‑degree relatives, their spouses, or anyone professionally related to the Contest, are excluded from participation.

2.2.1. Any participation by the above persons in violation of this clause shall be considered automatically void.

2.3. If any participant in the Contest violates, or is suspected of attempting to violate, intellectual property rights, personality rights, trademark rights, third‑party rights, personal data, or any other third‑party right, their participation will be immediately cancelled. In addition, the Organizer shall be entitled not to recognize the participant’s win.

2.4. All Participants, by participating in the Contest, fully and unconditionally accept these Terms.

2.5. Each interested party has the right to one participation. Each Participant may win only one prize.

2.6. There is absolutely no charge for participation. Internet access is required to participate.

2.7. The Organizer bears no responsibility for technical errors, connection interruptions, or other reasons that may hinder participation and is entitled to delete or exclude any participation that is offensive, illegal, or contrary to moral standards.

2.8. The Organizer reserves the right to exclude any participations that do not meet the requirements or violate the Contest terms.

3. Duration of the Contest

3.1. The participation period begins on April 1st 2026 at 12:00 a.m. (local Greek time) (Start of the Contest) and ends on August 31st 2026 at 23:59 p.m. (local Greek time) (End of the Contest).

3.2. It is expressly clarified that after the above date and time, no participation will be accepted nor will it bind the Organizer regarding timely submission. Any entries submitted after the above date and time are considered automatically non‑existent and produce no effect, nor do they bind the Organizer or any third party, being deemed legally withdrawn and no longer in existence.

4. Method of Participation in the Contest: Submission of Proposals – Specifications – Deliverables

4.1. Each proposal must include as a deliverable ONE pdf file, in presentation format, containing the following:

  • the artwork in digital form; the artwork may belong to any category of visual arts or any contemporary/mixed technique
  • the explanatory text of the concept
  • the full name, email address, and mobile phone number

Note: Selected artists may be asked to send physical works, drafts, or models for use and presentation at events or presentations of the Organizer.

4.2. Participation in the Contest automatically constitutes a declaration of participation and activates the Participant’s entry in the Contest while simultaneously constituting an unconditional acceptance of the Terms.

4.3. The winner may be required to deliver or make available the work in an editable format if it concerns digital material, as it may need to be adapted for further applications. Participants are free to choose the proportions and orientation of their creative work, as well as its visual or conceptual connection to the required theme.

4.4. It is expressly stated that the Organizer reserves the right to reject entries that violate these Terms, as well as to cancel at a later stage any entries that do not comply with these Terms.

4.5. Participants bear full responsibility for the content of the work they submit and declare that it is not a copy, imitation, or unauthorized use of a third‑party work. If any person raises claims against the Organizer, participants are obliged to assume full responsibility and compensate the Organizer for any positive or consequential damage.

4.6. The Organizer reserves the right to post online any supplementary clarifications related to the Contest that do not alter the essence of the main or special terms. It is therefore advisable for participants to check regularly the site www.shell.gr.

5. Rights

5.1. Only one participation per person is permitted.

5.2. Each submission must be an original visual artwork created by the participants themselves and must not have been published online or elsewhere.

5.3. Creators of the works selected as winners in the Contest automatically transfer all economic intellectual property rights of the specific work to the Organizer, agreeing that the prize mentioned below in clause (6) constitutes the sole consideration for this transfer, which the creators acknowledge as fair and reasonable, waiving any claim for further compensation. All rights for use, publication, advertising, copying, modification, alteration, and reproduction by all possible means of the selected work are transferred to the Organizer. Creators retain only the moral right to the work and the right to use it in their personal portfolio. This transfer remains in effect for the entire lifetime of each creator and for seventy (70) years after their death.

5.4. The winner’s name will be mentioned in the accompanying texts of the work.

6. Awards

6.1. A judging committee consisting of members and associates of the Organizer will be formed for the purpose of selecting 3 winners, who will receive prizes totaling €12,000, as follows:

1st winner – €6,000

2nd winner – €4,000

3rd winner – €2,000

6.2. The selection of the winners by the committee is final and not subject to objection or review.

6.3. The prizes will be awarded no later than 31.03.2027. If any winner does not wish to use the prize or does not accept it, the prize is neither transferable nor replaceable.

6.4. The Organizer will inform the participants of the place, time, and details of the award procedure by posting on shell.gr and its digital media.

7. Submission Deadline

Submissions must be made exclusively via email to shell100@ceg.gr. The attached file must be up to 16MB; alternatively, a large‑file transfer link may be used.
The Contest runs from 1 April 2026 at 12:00 a.m. to 31 August 2026 at 23:59 p.m., and may be modified (extended or shortened) at the Organizer’s discretion. Any other method of declaring participation will not be accepted.

8. Selection Process

8.1. From all valid entries submitted by the deadline and meeting these Terms and the Special Terms, the Organizer will select the winner at the sole and unrestricted discretion of the judging committee, based on the following criteria:

  • Originality of the idea
  • Expression of the Organizer’s values and visual communication
  • Connection with the Organizer’s history and presence in Greece

8.2. The decision of the Judging Committee is final and irrevocable, without the possibility of objection or review.

8.3. The results will be publicly announced on shell.gr and on the Organizer’s digital social media accounts.

9. Trademarks – Intellectual Property

9.1. Participants do not have nor acquire any rights to the Organizer’s trademarks, names, indications, emblems, and other distinctive signs. Any modification, publication, transmission, transfer, reproduction, distribution, presentation, linking, downloading, or any exploitation of the Contest content in whole or in part by any means or for any purpose, without prior written consent of the Organizer, is prohibited.

9.2. The Organizer bears no responsibility for the information each Participant provides during participation.

9.3. Participants must act lawfully and within the framework of these Terms and good business ethics.

9.4. Intellectual property rights of participants: Except where prohibited or restricted by law, by participating in the Contest each participant grants the Organizer a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, exclusive, transferable, royalty‑free right and license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish or display (in whole or in part) the content of their participation and their work, without rights or claims for financial or other compensation, for the purposes of marketing or advertising the Contest (including the presentation of the participation on the Contest website), in any medium and across all communication channels, without any temporary or specific limitation. This license includes the right to create derivative works, the right to add logos/labels, and the right of exclusive exploitation. Participants waive any claim relating to such usage. Where technically feasible, the Organizer will mention the participant’s name as creator. Participants agree to sign any required legal documents, although such signature is not a precondition for the Organizer acquiring the rights, which are obtained upon submission.

9.5. License for the winner: As a condition of receiving the prize, the winner grants the Organizer the same rights described above, royalty‑free, perpetual, irrevocable, exclusive, and transferable. The winner waives any claims for rights or compensation beyond the prize.

9.6. Participants are not granted any right to use the Organizer’s intellectual property except for participating in the Contest. They may share their work on social media only if they clearly state that it is their Contest submission and include a link to the Contest website (shell.gr).

Ownership of the works remains with participants/winners. The Organizer may purchase a work upon mutual agreement.

9.7. Publicity license: Except where prohibited, each winner authorizes the Organizer to use their name, voice, image, photo, prize, biographical details, and city/state/country of residence in television programs, advertisements, promotional material, or winners’ lists, without compensation or notice, for use in all media and social networks. The Organizer may or may not use such material at its discretion.

10. Other Terms

10.1. Participation requires unconditional acceptance of all Terms and Special Terms, as amended from time to time, and implies waiver of any related claims against the Organizer.

10.2. These Terms are governed by Greek Law. Any dispute relating to the Contest shall be submitted exclusively to the Courts of Athens.

11. Personal Data and Processing of Personal Data of Participants and Winners

11.1. In the context of conducting the Competition, the Organizer undertakes the processing of the necessary personal data of the participants, in order to enable their participation in the Competition as well as the Organizer’s communication with the winners.

More specifically, during the conduct of the Competition, the only information collected by the Organizer up to the stage of announcing the winners is the information provided by the participants upon submission of their proposal, namely their full name, email address, and mobile phone number.

Subsequently, the Organizer will proceed with the processing of the personal data of the winners, consisting of their full name and telephone number, in order to contact them and inform them about the procedure for receiving their Prize.

The legal basis for the processing of the above personal data of the participants by the Organizer is the Organizer’s obligation to fulfil its responsibilities arising from the terms of the Competition.

The processing of personal data by the Organizer is carried out in accordance with the applicable legislation and the guidelines of the Hellenic Data Protection Authority.

Participants retain the rights provided by law, and in particular the right to information, access, correction, and objection. Therefore, if any Participant wishes to learn more about the way their personal data is used, or if they wish to obtain access, update, delete, or correct their personal data, or if they wish to withdraw their consent, raise any objection to the processing of their personal data for legitimate reasons, or be informed about the data processors, they may contact the Organizer at telephone number 2109476555 or by sending an email to dpo@moh.gr.

Interested parties retain the right to withdraw their consent at any time regarding the collection and processing of their personal data.

Data subjects retain the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr

).

11.2. Processing of the Winners’ Personal Data by the Organizer

We inform you that in the context of conducting the Competition, it is necessary to collect and process personal data of the Participants, which are maintained and processed by the Organizer in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), exclusively for the purpose of delivering the Prizes, and for the purposes of satisfying the Organizer’s legitimate interests and fulfilling its legal obligations (Article 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR), in accordance with the applicable legislation.

The personal data of the Participants will be retained by the Organizer exclusively for the above processing purposes and only to the extent and for the period strictly necessary to serve each of the above purposes, either by the Organizer itself or by any other person it appoints, acting on its behalf, under its instruction, and for its account, for the purposes of this Action, in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR.

The personal data of the participants will not be used for purposes other than those mentioned above, nor will they be disclosed to third parties, except to processors acting on behalf of and for the account of the Organizer, who will provide the necessary services for the delivery of the Prizes and the promotion of the action, the works, and the winners.

12. Participation in the Contest presupposes full, absolute, and unconditional acceptance of the participation terms and special terms.

13. The Organizer reserves the right to postpone or cancel the Contest and/or modify its terms and dates at its sole discretion, without notice and without liability.

Special Terms

1. Each Participant must carefully read the Participation Terms and Special Terms before entering the Contest. Participation constitutes full and unconditional acceptance.

2. By submitting the entry, the participant declares and guarantees full ownership of all intellectual property rights to the materials included in their work.
The trademarks, names, indications, emblems, and other distinctive signs of Shell and CORAL belong to the Organizer and constitute intellectual and/or industrial property. Participants acquire no rights over them.

It is clarified that the Shell logo and marks may be used by participants (e.g., color palette, outline rendering, etc.) while maintaining their color character (yellow‑red‑white) and distinctive shape.

3. By submitting the entry, the participant declares, guarantees, and accepts that the only permissible use of the work is for submission as the final deliverable. Participants may not modify, alter, or edit the work in any way. Beyond necessary actions for submission and personal archiving, no reproduction, public presentation, distribution, transmission, or re‑transmission of the “Work” is permitted, including on the Internet or social media—even for non‑commercial purposes.

4. Proposals must not infringe any rights of third parties, personality rights, name rights of the Organizer, its trademarks or products, or any third party. Proposals must not promote products or services that may trigger regulatory scrutiny. Content offending the Organizer’s brand, public decency, or moral standards is not accepted. Offensive, defamatory, racist, incendiary, or discriminatory content is prohibited.

5. Proposals must not violate any third‑party intellectual property or personality rights. Participants guarantee they have lawfully acquired all rights and licenses. Participants are liable to indemnify the Organizer against any third‑party claims.

6. The Organizer bears no liability for loss or destruction of submitted works and does not require any participation fees.

7. The Organizer reserves the right to request that the selected creators submit preliminary sketches, material tests, or work-in-progress stages that document the creative process from the initial concept to the final result.

8. The Organizer reserves the right to request that the selected creators submit a formal declaration of authenticity, certifying that no machine learning algorithms or automated image generation tools were utilized.

9. In the case of digital works, the Organizer reserves the right to request the source files with full layer analysis to verify the creative methodology.
